Drawing as a Way of Thinking with Una at Sunny Bank Mills Gallery

Share

Una is running two workshops at Sunny Bank Mills Gallery in Leeds on the 24th November, supporting artists and writers of all levels to develop their comics.

The first workshop will run from 10.00 – 12.30 and focus on using drawing to think through, develop and plan characters and stories and to understand how life-stories can be developed as comics. The workshops are creative and will involve drawing, doodling, writing and storyboards. Materials will be provided.

The second workshop will run from 14.00 – 16.30 and will use the same approach as the first workshop in regards to letting your drawing develop your thoughts and characters. As the workshop progresses, you will learn how to make a mini zine, based on either an imaginative fiction or a memoir or biography relating to a life story. Examples of life-writing comics and graphic novels will be available for reference and inspiration before the workshop starts.

Tickets to both workshops are £7.50 and can be bought in advance on Eventbrite (early session) (late session). There are a number of subsidised places available for both workshops; email [email protected] to enquire.
