Lisa Blower: New Writing North Newcastle Writing Conference 2019

Share

New Writing North and Northumbria University have been joining forces to help writers achieve their creative ambitions since 2008. For their 2019 conference they’re bringing together some of the most inspiring people they know to help ignite your writing career.

The conference is aimed at everyone who has a desire to be published or to further their writing career, including those who feel they are not currently represented by the publishing industry.

Lisa Blower will be talking to Anita Sethi and Dr Katy Shaw in a breakout session. They will discuss their own careers and what it means to be a working-class writer today. Both writers feature in the just-published Common People, edited by Kit de Waal. Lisa is also author of It’s Gone Dark Over Bill’s Mother’s, a collection of her award-winning short stories dominated by the working-class matriarch.
