Join Sohaila Abdulali, author of What We Talk About When We Talk About Rape, and Chanel Miller, author of Know My Name: A Memoir, in conversation at an outdoor, socially-distanced event in Elizabeth Street Garden in New York, hosted by McNally Jackson Books, on Wednesday 23 September at 6 pm EDT.
Drawing on her own experience (Sohaila was gang-raped as a teenager in Mumbai), her research, her work with hundreds of survivors as the head of a rape crisis center, and three decades of grappling with the issue as a feminist intellectual and writer, What We Talk About When We Talk About Rape examines our contemporary discourse about rape.
‘This book is absolutely amazing, unlike anything I’ve ever read before. I would urge everybody to read it. It’s about feminism and women’s place in society, not only about rape.’—Jane Garvey, BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour

Due to COVID-19 considerations, socially-distanced seating will be restricted to 40 attendees, masks required. RSVP HERE for your free ticket confirmation. Books cannot be purchased at the Garden, but can be pre-purchased from the bookshop.

If you are not attending this event but would like to purchase a copy of What We Talk About When We Talk About Rape by Sohaila Abdulali, you can do so here.
