Join acclaimed graphic novelist Una in conversation with Costa award-winning author  Dr Mary Talbot to hear how their own lives and experiences have informed their work.

Una’s Becoming, Unbecoming, is a devastating personal account of gender violence, set against the backdrop of the 1970s Yorkshire Ripper manhunt. Through image and text Una asks what it means to grow up in a society in which male violence goes unpunished and unquestioned.

Dr Mary Talbot is the author of the graphic novel Dotter of Her Father’s Eyes, which is part personal history and part biography; illustrated by her husband Bryan Talbot, it won the 2012 Costa Biography award. Mary’s other graphic novels include Sally Heathcote: Suffragette and most recently The Red Virgin and the Vision of Utopia. She is an internationally acclaimed scholar who has published widely on gender and power.
