Five cartoonists, with a range of experiences between them, talk about their day jobs, and share their ideas for the future, on a panel at the popular Thought Bubble comics festival in Leeds. Una, Darryl Cunningham, Paula Knight, Ottilie Hainsworth (whose debut graphic novel Talking to Gina will be published on 28 September) and Nicola Streeten are all Myriad authors, and will be discussing how exactly they make ends meet with Myriad Creative Director Corinne Pearlman. Short of the six-figure advance, family trust fund, supportive partner, Arts Council grant or giving up drink, let’s hear it up for all the other jobs that make up our income… and maybe what we can do to change the scene so that we can start to make money creating graphic novels.
