Writing Fact Into Fiction: Literary Salon with Hannah Vincent

Share

Shoreham Wordfest presents its first ever literary salon featuring guest speaker, Hannah Vincent, in a talk on ‘Writing Fact into Fiction’ 12 September at 2pm.

This year’s Wordfest will focus on Moments of Change, bringing together local luminaries, national authors and international performers, celebrating the spoken and written word.

Hannah Vincent’s debut novel Alarm Girl was published to acclaim by Myriad in August 2014. Steeped in the dry heat of a South African summer, this keen and touching debut seamlessly interweaves the voices of Indigo and her mother, and beautifully captures the human desire to belong: in a family, in a country, in your own skin.

Hannah will discuss her own writing techniques and the use of history and fact in fiction writing. The afternoon will conclude with home-made cakes and harbour views seen from the salon upstairs.

Tickets are £5 or £4 for Friends of Shoreham Wordfest. For more information and to book, click here. Event location is at a private home with the address announced on tickets.
