Join Una, in conversation with Roger Sabin, Professor of Popular Culture at the University of the Arts London, about her new graphic memoir Becoming Unbecoming.

Becoming Unbecoming is a devastating personal account of gender violence, set against the backdrop of the 1970s Yorkshire Ripper man-hunt. Since publication last month, praise has been building for the book: following coverage in Emerald Street, Big IssueBroken Frontier and on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour (listen again), Becoming Unbecoming was selected for Elle magazine’s Ultimate Feminist Reading List and was included in Stylist magazine’s ‘best books from independent publishers‘ selection (‘a major new voice speaking out about the silencing of women’).

Una is an artist, academic and comics creator. Her self-published graphic narratives have explored disability, psychosis, political activism and violence against women and girls. She lives in Yorkshire.

Tickets are free but please RSVP to Waterstones (0113 244 4588) to reserve a place. A complimentary drink will be available on arrival.
