Myriad authors Sally O’Reilly and Hannah Vincent will be reading from their novels Dark Aemilia and Alarm Girl in a series of Tinker Box events in the Spiegeltent at the Brighton Fringe this May.

Hannah Vincent will read from her novel Alarm Girl, which captures the human desire to belong: in a family, in a country, in your own skin. She will appear alongside fellow Brighton authors Sharon L. Zink, William Shaw, Stephanie Lam, Erinna Mettler and Bridget Whelan on Friday 8 May from 6–8pm.

On Saturday 9 May from 12–6pm, Hannah Vincent and Sally O’Reilly will appear alongside William Shaw, Erinna Mettler and Bridget Whelan. Sally will be reading from her historical novel Dark Aemilia, called ‘wildly romantic’ by the Washington Post. Readings with Hannah Vincent will take place between 12pm–1pm and with Sally O’Reilly from 1pm–2pm, when listeners will have the opportunity to have a one-to-one reading in the Tinker Box.

And finally, on Friday 15 May, Sally O’Reilly will read in a Tinker Box event with Brighton writers Kate Harrison, Sarah Rayner, Laura Wilkinson, Jo Bloom and Alex Harris.

A restored and transformed horse trailer, the Tinker Box is a travelling gallery and micro-theatre in which artists can perform their work. Audience members experience the joy of being read to aloud by each author and have the opportunity to ask them about their writing. Books will be available to buy and have signed.

Each event is free; all welcome; no need to book.
