Written post-#MeToo, What We Talk About When We Talk About Rape by Sohaila Abdulali is a brave, honest, empowering—and ultimately hopeful—examination of sexual assault from the perspective of a rape survivor and counsellor.

Drawn from Abdulali’s own experience and her work with hundreds of survivors, the book challenges misconceptions and prejudices to examine why rape continues to be so prevalent and often so casually excused. In conversation with Abdulali is Bob Balfour, founder of Survivors West Yorkshire, and Katie Russell, Rape Crisis spokeswoman and co-founding trustee of Support After Rape & Sexual Violence Leeds.
