Sarah Lightman will be in conversation with playwright Julia Pascal at the Upper Wimpole Street Literary Salon, hosted at Persephone Books by Nicola Beauman.
The Salon provides a forum for women writers to meet and exchange ideas about ongoing work. They are a diverse group of over 200 writers from the fields of biography, journalism, fiction, poetry and scriptwriting, meeting about five times a year in central London. Each salon features members presenting a recently published book or a work-in-progress. The salon’s informal setting allows for frank discussion of our craft and of the particular challenges women writers face in promoting and publishing their work.
Myriad will be publishing Sarah Lightman’s graphic memoir, The Book of Sarah on the 23rd May. Distilled from thousands of diary drawings begun in her parents’ garden shed back in 1996, The Book of Sarah is an alternative bible to the one she moved away from, along with the religious Jewish lifestyle she followed as a teenager.
This event is members only, please contact the salon for more information to request an invitation.
