Myriad joins forces once again with the University of Brighton to present another of its popular Quick Strips events, bringing together fourteen comics creators to present work on the themes of diversity and under-representation.
Compèred by Myriad author Nye Wright, this fast-paced event comprises artists presenting their work or talking about some aspect of the theme in five minutes or fewer. Other authors from Myriad include Gareth Brookes, Kate Evans, Nicola Streeten, Ian Williams, Hannah Eaton and – wearing his hat as cartoonist ILYA – Ed Hillyer; they will be joined by cartoonists Joe Decie, Fraser Geesin, Dan Locke, Danny Noble and Wallis Eates. Also appearing will be forthcoming Myriad authors Jade Sarson, winner of the Myriad First Graphic Novel Competition 2014, Henny Beaumont, who was also on the six-strong shortlist, and Will Volley, whose book, The Opportunity, will be published by Myriad in October.
Quick Strips is part of the Graphic Brighton showcase, organised by the University of Brighton to celebrate the community of those writing, drawing, creating and publishing comics in Brighton.
