Myriad graphic novelists Nicola Streeten and Sarah Lightman will be discussing their graphic novels and comics that cover issues related to sexual abuse at Clear Lines Festival on 2 August.

Bringing together comedians, performers, journalists, writers, musicians, cartoonists, activists and the public, Clear Lines Festival is designed to explore and discuss themes surrounding sexual abuse, sexual violence, and consent. Building insight, understanding and community around these issues, Clear Lines Festival is the first of its kind.

Nicola Streeten and Sarah Lightman are the founders of  Laydeez do Comics, a unique graphic novel forum with a focus on comic works based on life narrative, the drama of the domestic and the everyday. Both artists will discuss their work in relation to the themes of the Clear Lines Festival.

During Storytelling Sexual Abuse Through Comics, Nicola Streeten will discuss her graphic novel Billy, Me & You, a moving, surprisingly funny, and inspiring account of recovery after bereavement. Sarah Lightman is a London-based artist, curator and writer. Her graphic novel The Book of Sarah will be published by Myriad in 2017.
