To celebrate the Graphic Medicine conference, Myriad brings you an evening of Graphic Medicine Quick Strips at the Phoenix Gallery on Friday 12th July, jointly hosted with Penn State University Press. 

Graphic medicine is an exciting field of comic arts communicating health issues through narrative, memoir and reportage in comic book form. Hear some of the key creators present their current work in a series of Quick Strips, taking a maximum of five minutes each, and take the chance to meet up with the cartoonists and publishers who are attending the Querying Graphic Medicine conference in Brighton’s Sallis Benney Theatre over the weekend.

The Quick Strips evening will feature artists Ian Williams, Gareth Brookes, Nye Wright, Dana Walrath, MK Czerwiec, Paula Knight, Zara Slattery, Ottilie Hainsworth, Hannah Eaton, Judith Margolis and Sarah Lightman.

Doors open at 7.00 pm and the talks will run from 7.15 pm to 8.30 pm. Tickets are £3 and can be brought via Eventbrite). The evening is free to conference attendees, who do not need a ticket to attend.

£3 from tickets can be redeemed against the price of a Myriad book, which will be available to buy on the night.
