Laydeez Day Leeds is a mixed event by Laydeez do Comics, taking place alongside Panel Show, a comic art exhibition at Sunny Bank Mills Gallery in Leeds.

The day will include an exhibition of comic art entered into the Laydeez do Comics Prize 2019, with a chance for all attending to read the zines submitted in the Laydeez Lounge. There will also be an introductory and practical workshop hosted by the LDComics team, focusing on graphic memoirs and comics about the every day.

The day will finish with a talk by Darryl Cunningham, comic artist and author of Psychiatric Tales, Supercrash, Science Tales, Graphic Science and now Billionaires – an unbiased and well-researched visual account of how the 1% rich influence politics, government and our society as a whole. This will be a pre-publication event and early copies of Billionaires will be available to buy and have signed.

Darryl Cunningham’s artwork from Billionaires also features in the Panel Show exhibition, alongside work by several other comic artists including Myriad novelists Una, Kate Charlesworth and Jade Sarson.
