Comics Tea Party at the University of Sussex will play host to a range of British academics and comics practitioners on 30th May, discussing how they work with, or as, comics artists as part of their academic research.

Two of Myriad’s graphic authors, Kate Evans and Nicola Streeten, will appear at the event, alongside Stephen Appleby, Matt Green, Rachael House, Annie Lawson and Will Brooker.

Kate Evans has published two graphic novels with Myriad: The Food of Love and Bump. She is a cartoonist and enthusiastic political activist, fusing words and pictures together to devastating effect.

Nicola Streeten is an anthropologist-turned-illustrator and comics scholar. She is the author Billy, Me & You (Myriad, 2011), a powerful graphic memoir about grief.

The panel event will be followed by a discussion in which the participating artists talk about how their work has been influenced by personal experience.

Tickets costs £17.50 and include lunch and tea. For more information and to book, click here.
