Kate Charlesworth Book Launch at The Cartoon Museum

We are pleased as punch to announce the London book launch for Sensible Footwear: A Girl’s Guide, a wonderful graphic memoir celebrating 70 years of LGBTQI+ history by Kate Charlesworth.

This will be a chance to visit the new museum and enjoy a presentation by Kate about her pop-up display: a mini-gallery within the gallery showcasing the making of Sensible Footwear. Come and marvel at Kate’s artwork, raise a glass to her achievement, and do ask her to sign copies of the book! There will be plenty on sale, in advance of publication.

‘Sensible Footwear is a stunning achievement –  as a graphic study of LGBT history, and as a memoir of growing up gay in the 1950s onwards.  Kate’s fluid and tellingly detailed drawing reveals not only the frustrations and traumas of lesbian life, but also the laughter and camaraderie… and a glorious cavalcade of gay icons.’ Posy Simmonds
