Jericho Writers Festival: In Conversation with Elizabeth Haynes and Candida Lacey

Share

Bestselling crime writer Elizabeth Haynes was a police intelligence analyst when her first novel became an overnight sensation. Ten years and eight books later, she still shares early drafts with her editor and publisher Candida Lacey. Together they talk about different stages of the editorial process, and the trust and cheer-leading that make the finished book.

Elizabeth Haynes is the author of eight crime novels, including the bestselling debut Into the Darkest Corner and, most recently, The Murder of Harriet Monckton, which is one of The Times 100 Best Books.

“Wow, wow, wow! This novel oozes atmosphere from the start, bringing not only the Victorian era to life but also delivering characters that are so realistic they almost jump from the page. It had me completely enthralled from start to finish and not only made me remember why I love historical fiction as much as I do but also re-awakened my sheer passion for reading. I have absolute no doubt this novel will end up in my list of favourite books of the year!” Novel Deelights on The Murder of Harriet Monckton

Join Elizabeth and Candida at 7pm, Monday 6 July 2020. The event is part of the Jericho Writers Festival of Writing, which runs from June through to September. Book your tickets online HERE.
