Una will be running a creative workshop at Travelling Man during Thought Bubble week. The session will help artists and writers to use drawing to think through, develop and plan their characters and stories, and to cooperate and collaborate to share creative energy.

The workshop is for all levels and open to anyone 16+. As it’s a creative workshop, a mixture of drawing, writing and doodling will be involved. You will leave the session with a couple of characters (based on vintage photos and postcards, provided) and a sequential story plotted out in rough, to be completed as finished work in your own time. You’ll get to meet and chat with Una, see her working process and also rummage through her zine collection.

Una is an artist and writer, author of Becoming Unbecoming, On Sanity: One Day In Two Lives, and Cree. Una is currently working on a graphic novel titled Eve for Virago Press, due to be published in 2020. Becoming Unbecoming has been widely translated and Una has been featured on BBC Radio 4 Woman’s Hour, Radio 3 Free Thinking, Newsweek and Oprah.com

The workshop begins at 6pm. If you need extra time to travel from your work place, you can join the group at 6.30 but let the venue know in advance. There is no charge to attend but you must register on Eventbrite in advance.
