Henny Beaumont will address the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health conference in Birmingham, following her recent lecture at the Tavistock Institute and attendance at the House of Commons Select Committee, along with actor Sally Phillips, to hear the Nuffield report on early testing for Down’s syndrome. The issues raised in her graphic memoir Hole in the Heart: Bringing Up Beth and in Phillip’s TV documentary about living with a child with Down’s syndrome, have seen the duo in much demand to address audiences of carers, politicians, health professionals and teaching staff from their parent perspectives.
