Myriad will be launching the 2020 Myriad First Graphic Novel Competition at The Lakes International Comic Art Festival (LICAF) in Kendal, on Sunday 13th October at  13.00 – 14.00 at the Comics Clock Tower. Celebrating the amazing world of comic artists, creators and writers, LICAF will feature over 70 special guests from across the comic world.

FIRST GRAPHIC NOVEL COMPETITION Quick Strips will hear from creative director and graphics commissioning editor Corinne Pearlman who will announce the 2020 MFGNC, introducing two of the authors who have been shortlisted by MFGNC; Ian Williams (shortlisted 2012, published and now judge 2020) and Zara Slattery (shortlisted 2018).

The event will also feature three of the five 2020 judges as they discuss what they’re looking for in this year’s submissions: Julie Tait (founder of LICAF), Ian Williams and Corinne Pearlman. The session will wrap up with top tips for those hoping to submit from past judges Bryan Talbot, Hannah Berry, and ILYA (Ed Hillyer).
