Feminisms and the Bible featuring Sarah Lightman

Sarah Lightman is taking part in Feminisms and the Bible, a symposium at Birkbeck University in May. The symposium itself will run from 12 pm – 6 pm, and Sarah will be offering an artist talk at The Koppel Gallery beforehand from 10 am – 10.45 am.

Sarah will be discussing her soon-to-be-published work, The Book of Sarah, which also features in Sarah’s solo exhibition at The Koppel Gallery from 27th April – 5th May. Distilled from thousands of diary drawings begun in her parents’ garden shed back in 1996, Sarah Lightman’s The Book of Sarah is an alternative bible to the one she moved away from, along with the religious Jewish lifestyle she followed as a teenager. The Book of Sarah will be published on the 23rd May 2019.

Admission to the symposium and artist talk is free, but you must register here.
