Black Girl Fest 2019 featuring New Daughters of Africa

Award-winning editor of New Daughters of Africa and the UK’s first black woman publisher Margaret Busby will be joining  in for this year’s Black Girl Fest 2019 in London. Margaret will be in conversation with poet and author Victoria Adukwei Bulley at 4pm in the auditorium.

The event will also feature Yaba Badoe, Ghanaian-British documentary filmmaker. Contributor to New Daughters of Africa, Yaba is author of Wolf Light, True Murder, A Jigsaw of Fire and Stars and The Secret of the Purple Lake.

Black Girl Fest is the UK’s first festival celebrating Black women and girls. The theme for this year’s festival is Taking Up Space, a topic which will be discussed in myriad talks, workshops and classes. There will also be film screenings, live performances, a marketplace and an exhibition.
