Benjamin Johncock will be reading from and discussing his highly anticipated debut novel, The Last Pilot, in conversation with Andrew Smith (Moondust) at Latitude Festival’s Literary Arena this Sunday.

Set amongst the beautiful coastal town of Southwold in Suffolk’s East, Latitude is an annual festival celebrating the world of music and the arts. The Literary Arena is a popular venue at the festival which provides a platform for new and established authors to share their work with the festival’s diverse audience.

With echoes of Tom Wolfe’s The Right Stuff and Richard Yates’ Revolutionary RoadThe Last Pilot is set during one of the most emotionally charged periods in American history. It re-ignites the thrill and excitement of the space race through the story of one man’s courage in the face of unthinkable loss.

Benjamin Johncock will be appearing at 6.00pm for the Festival’s Sunday lineup. He will be in conversation with Andrew Smith, author of the acclaimed bestseller Moondust – a collective biography of nine of the original Apollo astronauts, which sets out to explore the impact on their lives of walking on the moon.
