Critically acclaimed author Benjamin Johncock will read from and discuss his debut novel, The Last Pilot, as part of a series of events at Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library in celebration of World Space Week.
The Last Pilot is a ‘remarkable achievement’ that is ‘lit by the fire of of 1960s adventure, and also by the blazing beauty of a new literary star’ (Boston Globe). With echoes of Raymond Carver as well as Tom Wolfe’s The Right Stuff and Richard Yates’ Revolutionary Road, the novel re-ignites the thrill and excitement of the space race through the story of one man’s courage in the face of unthinkable loss.
At this one-off event, Benjamin will talk about the inspiration behind The Last Pilot as well as his research, and love of, the early space programme.
This is a free event. For full details visit the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library website.
