African Futures: New Daughters of Africa at the Berlin International Literature Festival

Share

The Berlin International Literature Festival has invited Karen Lord and Esi Edugyan, authors and contributors to Margaret Busby’s anthology, New Daughters of Africa, to talk to their audience about the future of African Literature. Both authors will also be reading from their texts.

New Daughters of Africa spans a wealth of genres—autobiography, memoir, oral history, letters, diaries, short stories, novels, poetry, drama, humour, politics, journalism, essays and speeches—to demonstrate the diversity and remarkable literary achievements of black women who remain under-represented, and whose works continue to be under-rated, in world culture today.

The festival will run from the 11th – 21st September. You can read the programme online and book tickets for African Futures at the Berlin International Literature Festival HERE.
