Join Myriad for panel events, five-minute portfolio reviews and top tips from graphic authors Woodrow Phoenix and Darryl Cunningham at the Myriad stand at Wonderlands UK Graphic Novel Expo – a festival for all fans of graphic novels on 30 May at CitySpace in Sunderland.


The festival is inspired by Bryan Talbot’s classic graphic novel, Alice in Sunderland, and organised by the University of Sunderland to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the publication of Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. Woodrow Phoenix and Darryl Cunningham will also take part in panel discussions, and at the end of the day there will be a Myriad stand party and special offers on books! All welcome.

Woodrow Phoenix will take part in the Telling Stories: Fiction in Graphic Novels panel discussion at 1.20pm. He will also be giving several showings of his 1m square giant graphic novel She Lives.

Darryl Cunningham will participate in the Graphic Lives: Biographical and Historical Graphic Novels panel discussion from 3.30pm.

Woodrow Phoenix is a British comics artist and writer who also works in the fields of editorial illustration, graphic design, font design and children’s books. His graphic story ‘End of the Line’ first appeared in The Brighton Book, a mixed-media anthology published by Myriad in association with Brighton Festival. He is also the author of the highly acclaimed graphics book Rumble Strip, which explores the complicated psychology of the relationship between people and cars.

Darryl Cunningham is graphic artist, novelist and journalist who has published two books with Myriad. Science Tales exposes the lies, hoaxes and scams of popular science. His award-winning latest graphics investigation, Supercrash, takes us to the heart of free-world politics and the financial crisis.
