Say ‘Aaaah!’: A Spoonful of Graphic Medicine, Waterstones Brighton

Share

Myriad in association with Waterstones Brighton present a unique evening exploring the art of Graphic Medicine: graphic novels that tell stories from the viewpoints of both patients and health care professionals.

The event will feature Ian Williams, author of The Bad Doctor, Guardian cartoonist and founder and co-editor of graphicmedicine.org, a website highlighting the crucial role that comics and graphic novels can play in the study of and delivery of healthcare, in particular autobiographical stories. Joining Ian will be graphic novelists Aneurin (Nye) Wright (Things to do in a Retirement Home Trailer Park) and Henny Beaumont (Hole in the Heart), in a discussion chaired by Professor Bobbie Farsides, Professor of Clinical and Biomedical Ethics, Brighton and Sussex Medical School.

Tickets: £2 via www.waterstones.com/events, by emailing [email protected] or by calling 01273 206017.
