Share

Myriad’s Sally O’Reilly  will be joined by fellow author Susanna Jones for this Brighton Fringe panel event on why they started writing historical fiction and their experiences in having their work published.

Author Sally O’Reilly’s first historical novel was published by Myriad in 2014. Dark Aemilia tells the story of England’s first professional female poet and Shakespeare’s enigmatic muse and one true love, Aemilia Bassano. With a PhD in Creative Writing from Brunel University, and as a lecturer at the Open University, Sally O’Reilly has a broad knowledge of the publishing industry. She is the author of the bestselling writing guide How to be an Author and maintains a blog of the same name.

The event will comprise a panel discussion with the two authors as well as publishers of historical fiction and literary agents. There will also be a lucky-dip pitching session in which budding historical novelists will have the opportunity to pitch a one-page synopsis or book idea and receive valuable feedback from the panelists.

Tickets are £7 or £5 concessions. The event starts at 7pm. For more information and to book, click here.
