Jules Grant will be in conversation with Shoreham’s Annie Callanan, reading from and discussing her highly acclaimed debut novel, We Go Around In The Night And Are Consumed By Fire.

Praised by novelist Toby Litt as ‘everything you could want a novel to be – beautifully written, funny, agonising, unflinching. It reads like a classic’ and Anna Hope as ‘a beautiful, bruised street-fighter of a book’, We Go Around in the Night and Are Consumed by Fire ‘marks the arrival of a major new talent.’ (Paul Burston).

This thrillingly original crime novel has also been recognised for its emotional exploration of the female psyche:

‘It’s wonderful to venture into a world of female LGBT characters who drive the action. Indeed, the fact that they’re lesbians is refreshingly incidental. It’s a great thrill-ride, with authentic and exceptionally written characters.’ (Northern Soul).
