Henny Beaumont, author of Hole in the Heart: Bringing Up Beth, will be in conversation at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) and show images from her acclaimed graphic memoir about bringing up her daughter with Down’s syndrome. Hole in the Heart was published by Myriad in June 2016. As well as appearing on BBC Woman’s Hour and being featured in the Mail on Sunday YOU Magazine, Henny has spoken to midwives, MA social work students, the Tavistock Institute and has forthcoming engagements with a variety of health and carer organisations as well as at art colleges.

Henny will be in conversation with Dr Muna Al-Jawad, comics artist and consultant at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, and Bobbie Farsides, Professor of Clinical and Biomedical Ethics at BSMS.
