Richard Mackay is a specialist in environmental impact assessment and has developed environmental policies for international companies. He currently works for Mott MacDonald, the multi-disciplinary consultancy, on identifying and preserving endangered species during civil engineering projects. He has studied conservation areas worldwide and surveyed wildlife in Britain and on the Aride Island Nature Reserve, Seychelles. He is co-author of the World Health Organization’s award-winning Inheriting the World: The Atlas of Children’s Health and the Environment and author of The Atlas of Endangered Species. Richard Mackay lives in Cambridge, England, with his wife and daughter.
